Research Scientists - All Levels
The Center for Computational Learning Systems is seeking highly qualified researchers who have either a strong, distinctive research agenda or the potential to create one, and whose strengths complement our existing research areas in Natural Language Processing, Smart Cities, Arabic NLP, Social Media, Health Informatics, and Machine Learning. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field from computational linguistics, machine learning, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or other field that requires computational thinking. Candidates seeking appointment as a Research Scientist or Senior Research Scientist must have demonstrated excellence in research with publications in top journals and conferences, and a strong record of attracting grant support. Candidates with evidence of successful collaborations across disciplines, industry experience, or demonstrated entrepreneurial interest (e.g., intellectual property development and licensing) are highly desirable. Appointments as Associate Research Scientist are also possible, depending on the area of specialization. Appointments to the Center will be for fixed renewable terms.
Areas of specialization are open. The center seeks to appoint an individual with technical strength and creative approaches to problems, whose research activities will complement existing strengths, and with an interest in real world problems. We are particularly interested in natural language researchers with a focus on applications of computational linguistics to computational social sciences, or health informatics; in machine learning researchers with an interest either in structure learning, unsupervised Bayesian methods, or learning methods for time series data.
Qualified applicants should submit a CV, statement of research, research abstract and a list of references.
Applicants should apply through our online RAPS system - Research Scientist job application in RAPS.
